Born in 1950 / From Nagano Prefecture

After studying composition at Kunitachi College of Music, Joe made his debut with the album "Information" in 1982. After being in charge of the music for the movie "Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind", he went on to create soundtracks for "Princess Mononoke", "HANA-BI", "Sonatine", and more. He has become an indispensable part of Japanese cinema. At his concerts, he mainly focuses on the piano, and continues to pursue the possibilities of contemporary music in a variety of styles, and has gained support from a wide range of people.
