Takayuki Hattori

Born 1965 / from Tokyo

The grandson of Ryoichi Hattori and son of Katsuhisa Hattori. He left Seikei High School after his second year to go to France, completed his studies at the Conservatoire de Paris, and returned to Japan in 1988. Since then he has arranged works and concerts for a wide range of artists, from the pop of Masaharu Fukuyama and Sheena Ringo to the classical world of Yumiko Samejima and Toru Takemitsu. He has also shown remarkable talent in music for TV dramas and films. His film work includes Kura, Yukai (The Kidnapping), and Welcome Back, Mr. McDonald, all of which won the Award for Outstanding Achievement in Music at the Japan Academy Film Prize; his TV drama work includes HERO, Nodame Cantabile, and Hanzawa Naoki. From the stage and the main theme of TBS's The World Heritage to commercials and game music, he is active across every genre.
