On September 16, 2023 the "Kyohan Festival" (Kyoto Soundtrack Festival) was held at Umekoji Park in Kyoto. Even though the Kyohan Festival was held on one of the hottest days on record, tons of fans went out their way to attend and enjoy themselves.

Before the main stage performances, fair booths were opened to the customers. The area which sells official and collaboration products along with dining at local restaurants were flooded with long lines of people. Products such as the collaborated craft beer, "Kyotomo Eru", and official pamphlets were selling one after another.

Here are the top three popular Kyoban Festival products sold:

\3rd Place: “Official folding fan”/

\2nd Place “Official pamphlet”/

\1st Place: “Kyotomaneru Beer”/

When the main area finally opened, a long line of customers began to enter.
Everyone started to spread out their picnic sheets and beach umbrellas.

Finally, the performance began!

Let's introduce the each performer:

First up was Makoto Miyazaki

One-Punch Man's 「Second blow of justice enforcement」「Genos fights」「Metal Bat」and「Fubuki」

Fairy gone's「EASTALD」

Two songs from the BUCKET LIST OF THE DEAD

SPY×FAMILY's「STRIX」「Looks like a nice family」「Bondman」

Sakura Quest's「Wisteria」

Personally, listening to One Punch Man's songs under the blazing blue skies had me feeling moving fast in a sense and felt awesome!

Mr. Miyazaki's guitar playing was spectacular!

As a beginner in theater music, I really underestimated this event potential…

Next was Taku Iwasaki

Bungo Stray Dogs「Good For Nothing」

The Irregular at Magic High School’s「Code break」

Battle Tendency’s「Overdrive」

Katanagatari's「Bahasa Palus」

Noragami's「Noratan

Jormungand's「The first step to escape from complex」

Gurren Lagann's「Bust Through the Heavens With Your XXX!

Lotus Juice really rocked the place.

It was impressive to see many people in the audience standing up and having a blast!

It's was also fun to see the backs of people enjoying music.

The performance with Yutaka Fukuoka was also wonderful...!

Next was Tatsuya Kato

Dr.STONE's「STONE WORLD」「Next Level」「Won't Give Up」

TRIGUN STAMPEDE's から「TRIGUN STAMPEDE」「MILLIONS KNIVES」

IDOLiSH7's「We the black hole!」「UNTOUCHED PRiDE」

Free!'s「Into the new world」「Still life goes on」「Rhythm of new sensation」「We could be free」

As expected, Free! was really amazing! Combined with the video, it reminds me of the main anime…

I was glad to be able to listen to it on this hot day in Kyoto.

It was moving to hear the harmonies of guest vocalists Zinee&issei singing live!

The next guest was Arisa Okehazama

Jujutsu Kaisen's「Hollow Technique: Purple」「7:3」

THE GOD OF HIGH SCHOOL's 「SEOUL TEAM」

Jujutsu Kaisen 0's 「This Is Pure Love」

It was his second time in front of an audience but it was hard to believe that it was his first performance in Japan!

Perhaps because of the name "Okehazama" and her birthplace, the performance announced the start of a war using a conch shell had me in tears laughing lol

I think it was the thing that made the venue feel more relaxed that day!!

Next up Yasuharu Takanashi

FAIRY TAIL's「Dragon Force」「The Last Magic」「Elsa's Theme」「FAIRY TAIL Main Theme 2014」

BASTARD!! -Dark God of Destruction-'s「BASTARD!!」

Then Takanashi leads here. The member from YAIBAKenji Fujisawa's Baki's「Battle Start」

NARUTO Shippuden's「Dynamic Heaven」「Critical」「NARUTO Main Theme ’16」「Turn the tables」

Takanashi's performance makes you feel so alive!!

Both the host and stage performances made my heart so warm!

When the NARUTO songs were played with the participation of taiko drummer, Shigefuji, and shamisen player, -KIJI-, I bursted into tears.

I was dying to buy Sasuke's goods…

And finally Yuki Hayashi

Pokemon's「Let's all do it together!」

You Are After School Insomnia's「The Invincible Two」

Bakuten!!'s「Blue Feather」

Dragon Quest: The Adventure of Dai's「Dragon Knight」

Haikyu!!'s「Top」「Kamome」「Miraculous Quick Attack」

My Hero Academia's「You Say Run」「My Hero Academia」「Write it as 'enemy' and read it as 'classmate'」

And finally, as an encore (I did a self-encore without calling because I didn't have time lol) Ayapeta sang "Hero too"

Hayashi was doing a performance handing out Kyoban Festival tin badges to the audience.

Ayasa's solo violin performance in the Haikyuu song was so beautiful.

Masaki Nishikata uses both trumpet and cello in various songs

Yuki Hayashi's time had a lot of highlights!!

By this time, the sun had already set and it was starting to cool down, so I felt like, "It was such a hot day, but it was over so quickly…''

This was the last thing that would make me want to come back again.

So, this is my first time participating in such an event.

As an anime geek, it was a new thrill for me to be able to listen to famous anime soundtracks played live outdoors.

Perhaps because Kyoto's Umekoji Park is usually used by families and students, even people who didn't know about the event listened to the performance and showed interest made me want to spread the word even more!

Even after the stage was over, there were many people who stayed and enjoyed food and drinks around the festival space.

It seemed like a variety of people had tons of fun, including those who were talking about musical performance and those who just simply enjoyed the atmosphere.

I hope that more people will come and enjoy Gekiban next time!
